Old Running Friends
While shopping today I ran into an old running friend. We had been talking for a while when I asked about his running. He replied that he had not run in years. I said that I have not been running much either, at least not as like when we used to run those half marathons together. I can remember just like it was yesterday running with him, struggling to keep up. He would be up ahead there urging me on, probably slowing down so I could stay with him. He would say “Just fall in right behind me and stay there, you can do it”. As all of these thoughts were going through my mind I said I wish we were still running together. Remember when we did the YMCA Half Marathon in Peoria? Boy that was one the hilliest halves the in the state I think. Yeah remember Leo would sweat so much that he would have salt lines on his arms. Yeah those were the days.
I am running the Chicago Banco Half Marathon in September; I will be lucky to finish without walking.

After talking with him I had a pretty good run today. I ran the entire distance without slowing down, much, from my starting pace. I think it is good to keep the same pace all the through. Invariably I seem to start faster than what I can finish. Here the stats:
