Playing Politics With Illinois Landmarks

It is very sad that Illinois governor has chosen to play politics with Illinois landmarks. These are the very treasures that bring visitors into our state. The parks that escaped the budget axe have had their usage fees doubled. The story that these things cannot be afforded is nothing more that, a story.
The worst part of this is the Department Of Natural Resources (DNR) is more than self-supporting. This is why the cost story does not hold water. The cost of fishing and hunting licenses and similar fees more than supports the DNR. But all of these usage fees go into the general revenue fund.
Governor is it really true that shutting our parks and historic sites is just a way getting your way on other issues?
