The GRRC Turkey Trot begins in the parking lot in front of the Lake Storey Pavilion. This scenic 5k race, which is completely off road, is run on an asphalt trail. This hiking trail runs beside Lake Storey and through the woods and includes two footbridges, one of which goes over the Lake Storey dam. Since it is an out and back course runners are offered a fine opportunity to see the winners on the way back.

Turkeys are given to the first place in both women and men’s. The awards ceremony is inside the Lake Storey Pavilion banquet hall. In 2008 there were 127 runners and 5-year age groups.
