The Quad City Times Bix 7 Mile Run

The Quad City Times Bix 7 is a seven-mile run that starts up Brady St in Davenport, IA and runs up hill away from the Mississippi. There are several hills depending on what you call a hill and some consider it a challenging run.

I love the Bix, I have ran it many times and know it, the hills, railroad underpass and last hill I call heart break hill because so many times in the past I would think I was doing so well and was done with the hills, ready to turn the corner and run down Brady. But nooo, there is that one last hill; short and steep takes the wind right out of you. I even remember one time at Bix @ six I went out way to fast and had to walk later on. That is certainly the only time I have ever walked in the Bix.

I remember one year right at the start line while were getting pre-race instructions it started pouring down rain. The kind of rain where the drops were as big as mothballs and one drop would soak your entire head. The sides of the road became rivers, the water up to your ankles flowed in and out of your shoes.
