Nashville (TN)

I ran the Nashville TN Country Music Half Marathon last Saturday. I only mention it because I broke 2 hours, coming in at 1:59.38. I had committed to the race a long while ago and am glad I did it. Now, it is back to Illinois races, although I am not sure when I will be able to do another one in the near future. Also, for the record, at the Lincoln Christian College two-miler, it turns out that I finished first in my age category. I've never done that before! Let's hear it for small races (and old age)!

and old age
Daj how old are you? I am almost 60 and have never have been able to break two hours for a half. Just wondering if it was still possible?
I'm 46. I think at 60 it
I'm 46. I think at 60 it would be possible to break two hours, if you are somewhat close (15 minutes or so). I've shaved six minutes off my time in three halves this year. Just spend the summer stretching out your runs a bit, without worrying about time. Then, in the fall, or maybe the spring, give it your shot. Nashville was hilly, but find a flat course and good temperatures. Maybe run Quincy's Bridge the Gap to Health next year. After the first mile or two, it is completely flat.
This September my wife,
This September my wife, daughter and I are planning on running the Chicago Half Marathon. We ran it last year for the first time. That would be a good time.
